I’m back.
Hello from Cleveland!!!
FUN NEWS:
I have a short story titled, THIS WILL NOT STAND appearing in issue 2 of Slips Slips.
Slips Slips is a New York based publication and you can find copies around NYC or request a copy at slipsslips.net. Donations are appreciated.
My story involves a lemonaide stand, wizardry, and a Shih Tzu.
I want to thank Whitney Matheson & Dean Haspiel for their inspiration & encouragement.
Their work can be found in issue #1.
I’m really proud to be part of this project and if you live in the Cleveland area I will be making drops around town. I hope you check it out.
FUN NEWS PART DEUX:
One of the worst pieces of advice I ever received was when I was told improv comedy is for stand up comedians that aren’t funny. As a comic at the time I took it as truth and avoided improv like the plague. So dumb. If you don’t know I love comedy and standup. I’ve been doing open mics and some road shows for many years.
At age 50, I decided to take an 8 week improv class at the Imposters Theater in Cleveland. I love it. I love working without a net, any scene could be amazing or blowup into a total disaster. I love working as a team and when the team succeeds you all succeed. There are times I feel like Lebron James, passing the ball, getting everyone involved, or if needed I drop a logo three! Ha!
I hope if you are reading this it makes you think about things you like to do or maybe want to try. Getting out of my own head and comfort zone is something I enjoy. It’s your life, I hope you find like minded people to encourage you to express yourself. Take a chance on something this week where you end up saying, “Wow, I did that”.
STAY CURIOUS,
Chris
BONUS:
One of these people hosted SNL last week, the other is me!
